I had a more than usual pep in my step this morning while getting ready for work.
Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers paid the San Francisco Giants a visit at AT&T Park for a three game series. What resulted was the Dodgers outscoring the Giants 17 to four, taking a one and a half game lead in the National League West, and sweeping them in their own stadium.
Life is good.
Fellow co-workers (and Giants fans) Dave Bear and Joe Hevia each were greeted with a vertical standing broom a top their office chairs, and the mighty Dodgers logo taped to the handle. My work here is done.
I realize there is a lot of baseball left to be played, but a sweep will always be a sweep, and to get swept at home is the series twisting of the knife. Former Giants reliever Brian Wilson even contributed to Sunday’s win.
Yup, it’s all quiet on the Giants front today, and that’s the way I like it.
