Sutter-Yuba Mosquito & Vector Control Begins Spray
  Details: The Sutter-Yuba Mosquito & Vector Control District, in an effort to minimize the spread of West Nile Virus in the Sutter-Yuba area, will begin ultra-low volume spraying in agricultural areas of the district beginning on Monday, May 26th. Spraying by truck-mounted spray machines will be performed every Monday and Thursday evenings starting at sunset and lasting 3-4 hours. Ultra-low volume aerial spraying for the agricultural areas west of Yuba City on Tuesday evenings and north of Marysville on Wednesday evenings beginning on Tuesday, May 27th and Wednesday, May 28th respectively. Spraying will be done every week starting at sunset and lasting 2-3 hours.

No-Cost Swimming Lessons
  Details: Yuba County Public Health is offering No-Cost swim lesson vouchers for children 6-15 years old and Yuba County residents. CSU at Chico Offers Trip to Peru and Machu Picchu

YSDADA Housing Animals Misplace by Fires
  Details: With the many fires burning throughout Northern California, and the many evacuations of families and their domestic animals the Yuba Sutter Animal Disaster Assistance is helping out in Oroville and keeping watch near the town of Washington, to the east of Grass Valley/Nevada City in case help is needed there, but their priority remain in supporting their home community, Y-S.
If a fire should break out in the Y-S area, please tune into KUBA AM1600 and FM 95.5 for emergency information, KUBA will broadcast where and when human and animal shelter will be set up.
YSDADA urge residents to take time now and establish your family, pets included, disaster plan. If you have farm and ranch animals, please have plans and resources in place to move your animals quickly to another location.
